The Life I Once Prayed For
I am so thankful for my life, my family, and the life God has given me.
When I look back, I can see how many times I asked for something, kept moving toward it, made the hard decisions, and eventually watched it become my life.
When I worked at the VA, I constantly wrote about wanting to work closer to home. And then I got that opportunity. Thank you, OSF.
While working at OSF, I prayed for the ability to be home with my kids. I wanted to work from home. I wanted to bring them to school, be here when they got home, and be more present for their lives.
In 2020, that became my reality.
Thank you.
And now I can feel myself being pulled toward the next chapter.
I want more freedom in my days. I want to build something that is mine. I want to help kids and parents through the hard, overwhelming, beautiful parts of raising a family. I want to take everything I have learned, created, experienced, and walked through and use it to help someone else.
I want to make myself proud.
I want to prove to myself that I can take this idea that has lived in my heart for so long and turn it into something real.
I want my husband to look at everything I have been working on, dreaming about, creating, and talking about and finally see it come together. Not because I need to prove my worth to him, but because I want him to see what I knew was possible all along.
Every chapter before this one once felt like something I was hoping for.
And then, little by little, it became my life.
So I will keep listening.
I will keep following the path in front of me.
I will keep making the hard decisions.
I will keep showing up, even when I cannot see exactly how everything is going to work out yet.
God has brought me this far.
I have faith He is not finished.
The life I am praying for now may someday be the life I am thanking Him for.
And I cannot wait to look back and say:
I knew it was coming.
I kept going.
And it all paid off.
